Outreach

olp logo02The Outreach Learning Programme is primarily concerned with the promotion of mental health and emotional well-being through the development of life skills. In essence, the programme aims to raise awareness of mental health issues and combat discrimination through education within a workshop or presentation setting.

Where Does the OLP go?

The OLP operates throughout Angus and is offered to and can be accessed by pupils in Primary 5, 6 and 7.

What Can I Learn About?

At present, funding allows the following three workshops, carried out over three sessions at approximately 1.5 hours per session:

SESSION 1 - Mental Health Awareness

SESSION 2 - Stigmatisation/causes of stress

SESSION 3 - Keeping a positive sense of mental well-being

What’s in the Three Workshops?

Each session includes a number of activities, designed to engage children in the ‘learning process through lively discussion, positive interaction and the use of games, as well as some creative work.

At the end of the workshops, participants are also given a copy of the Mental Well-Being Promotion Pack for young people in Angus. This pack has been designed to reinforce what has been discussed in the workshop setting and also serves as a point of reference for future needs.
